Table Notes:

a. This is the household of Auguste (Augustin) Roger and Marie Hebert who were married on October 13, 1808. Auguste was the son of Jean Roger and Marie Victoire Prejean. Known  children at this point in time were: Auguste Valery Roger (1809), Marie Marcellite Roger (1812), Adeline Roger (c. 1813), and Auguste Evariste Roger (1815).

b. This seems to be an error. There should only be one male in this category. As there should also be two females in the "up to 10" column, the webmaster is interpreting this as an error by the census taker.

c. If accurate, this person is too old to be a child of Auguste and Marie, as at this time they had been married 11 years. Possibly this is a brother to either one of them or some other relative. This is true for entries in both columns cited, meaning this male is likely 16-18 years old.

d. This entry show the household of Marie Victoire (Victoria) Prejean Roger, widow of Jean "Caissy dit" Roger. The son listed is Alexis Roger (c.1798). Daughter Marie Clemence Roger (1795) had married to Francois Joseph Bernard on July 26, 1812.

e. This entry is for Jean Baptiste Roger, son of Jean Roger and Marie Victoire Prejean, and Marie Emile Boudreaux, daughter of Etienne Boudreaux and Marguerite Thibodaux, who were married on May 6, 1805 in Plattenville, LA. The two children are: Marie Ulisa Roger (1811) and Hermogene Roger (1818).

f. This entry appears to be the household of Joseph Roger, son of Joseph Roger, Jr. and Marie Magdelaine Babin, and Carmelite Hache who were married on May 4, 1819. The two other females are far too old to be any of their children, and possibly are two sisters of Joseph: Henrietta Roger (1803) and Euphrosine Roger (1809).

g. This household is that of Francois Roger, son of Joseph "Caissy dit" Roger and Anastasie Dugas, and Marguerite Leblanc, daughter of Paul and Anne Boudreaux . Known children to this point are: Marie Euphrosine Roger (c. 1801-1805), Francois Hypolite Roger (1804), , Louis Onézime Roger (1806), Marguerite Roger (1808), Francois Roger (1810), Joseph Zenon Roger (c. 1816), Séraphine Roger (c.1815),  Benjamin Seraphin Roger (1817) and Celeste Roger (1819).

OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS: The following family members are not readily found in the 1820 census either through omission, marriage or not seperately listed (usually minors) or perhaps have died before August 1820 when the census was started:

Marie-Josephe Roger (1798), daughter of Joseph Roger, Jr. and Marie Magdelaine Babin. She had married Jean Pierre Ledet on Jun 28, 1818 and is possibly enumerated there.

Francois Roger (1803), son of Joseph Roger, Jr. and Marie Magdelaine Babin. (Alive as there are later records)

Auguste Roger (1805), son of Joseph Roger, Jr. and Marie Magdelaine Babin.  (Alive as there are later records)

Jean Baptiste Roger (1807) , son of Joseph Roger, Jr. and Marie Magdelaine Babin. (no later records)

Marie Magdelaine Babin, widow of Joseph Roger. (no later records)
