Note: There are several other Roger surnamed soldiers that we suspect are Caissie descendants but we are temporarily not including them until the data is firm. Some may also be duplications. These include:

Roger, Auguste  of St Landry Parish, Served under Colonel Ash and Captain Vallard

Roger, Augustin  served with Company D, 26th Regiment, LA Infantry (possibly Joseph Augustin Roger above)

Rogers, Francois, Pvt. Co. D, Lafourche Regt. La. Mil. Federal Rolls of Prisoners of War, Captured and paroled Lafourche,  La., Dec. 1, 1862,     by Gen. Weitzel. Probably referencing Francois Adelard Roger (above)

Roger, G. A., Pvt. Co. I, 26th La. Inf. En. Thibodaux, La., March 15, 186–. Roll Sept. and Oct., 1862,  Present: Federal  Rolls of Prisoners of War, Captured and paroled at Vicksburg, Miss., July 4, 1863. On List dated Hdqrs. U. S. Forces, Lafourche Dist., Thibodaux, La., Feb. 23, 1864, of paroled prisoners in Lafourche District. Remarks: Has not  taken the Oath. On List not dated of Confederate Prisoners in Lafourche Par., La., paroled and unexchanged. Remarks: Has not taken the Oath. - (Gustave A. Roger)

Roger, Joseph,Pvt. Co. D, 26th La. Inf. En. Thibodaux, La., March 12, 186–. Roll Sept. and Oct., 1862. Present. Federal  Rolls of Prisoners of War, Captured and paroled at Vicksburg, Miss., July 4, 1863. Your webmaster suspects this is a another son of Hippolyte Roger and Marie Forest. As two sons of this couple, Francois Adelard Roger and Augustin Alex Roger enlisted the same day, it is not unthinkable a third brother did the same. If this is the case, then this could be either Joseph Hippolyte Roger or Pierre Joseph Roger
