ROGERSVILLE, NB - Alexandre "Alex" Maxime Caissie, 82, husband of the late Émilienne Bourque, passed away August 3, 2002. Born July 2, 1920 he was the son of the late André Caissie and the late Joséphine Richard. He was a Veteran of the Second World War (1939-1945). He is survived by three daughters, Noëlla (Albert McGraw) of Rogersville, Dianne (Eugène Gallant) of Rosaireville, Doris (Réginald Caissie) of Rogersville; son Laurent of Rogersville; three sisters, Léonie Caissie of Rogersville, Elva Weston of Collette, Dorothy Harmon of Grand-Barachois; brother Aldéric Caissie of Saint Hubert, Que; nine grand children, Cinthia, Stéphanie, Cédric, Sébastien, Christian, Jocelyn, Jeffrey, Ronald, Denis; three great grandchildren, Mélanie, Corinne, Brennan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Léon, Aurèle; two sisters, Tina and Alida. Resting a the mortuary hall of Rogersville at 11325 Route 126. The funeral will be held at the St-François de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Rogersville Tuesday August 6, 2002 at 11am. Laura Brun Caissie 

1908 - 2003 

GRANDE-DIGUE-Mrs. Laura Caissie 95, wife of the late Yvon Caissie of Grande-Digue passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at her residence. Born in Grande-Digue, May 1, 1908, she was the daughter of the late George Brun and the late Marguerite LeBlanc. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with E. P. Melanson for 20 years. She was a member of Les Dames de Ste. Anne, a member with the Golden Age Club and La Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Grande-Digue. She will be sadly missed by her loving family; five daughters: Alice Légère (Oswald), Léona Cormier (Donat) of Cap-Pelé, Elizabeth Caissie (Claude) and Anita Caissie of Grande-Digue, Marguerite Desprès (Alyre) of Cocagne; three sons: Philippe (Cora) and Gérard (Yolande) of Grande-Digue, Thomas (Patsy) of Cocagne; a sister-in-law Philomène Caissie of Grande-Digue; 31 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Yvon (1983), one daughter Hélène Goguen (1985), two sons: Emanuel (1984), Éloi (1985), three sisters: Alma, Adeline, Alice and five brothers: Arthur, Alphonse, Léandre, Thomas, Edgar Brun. Rose Caissie-Richard, widow of André F. Richard, died at her home Sunday, May 18, 2003. Born February 11, 1908, in Riley, Maine, USA, she was the daughter of the late Ozélie Robichaud and Jean Caissie. She is survived by her children and their spouses - Rosario and Doris (Dieppe), Guy (Bouctouche), Andréa and Gilles Vallée (Trois-Rivière), Gloria (Bouctouche), Rose-Marie and Marcel Jodoin (Montréal), Louis and Josée (Bouctouche), Pierrette and Allain Ménard (Dieppe); her daughter-in-law Grace (Shédiac); seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and God-daughter, Lilianne Caissie-Denault (St-Jean d'lberville); two brothers, Johny Casey (Danvers, MA), Edouard and his wife Bertha (Moncton); her sister-in-law Alfreida Casey (Southewick, MA) and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband André F. Richard (1993), she was preceded in death by her son Jean-Claude (1986), her daughter-in-law Germaine (2000), three sisters, Aline Murray, Sister Marie Caissie, r.h.s.j., Mabel Gauvin and three brothers, Alphée, Jos and François. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday May 23, 2003, at Saint Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church in Bouchouche. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. At the request of Rose, there will be no visits at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Maison Funéraire Maillet, Bouctouche.

ROGERSVILLE, NB - At the Miramichi Regional Hospital, Sunday July 6, 2003, at the age of 82 yrs, passed away Edmond J. Caissie, husband of MarieAnne Goguen, from Rogersville. Born May 28, 1921, he was the son of the late Edmond (Eddy) Caissie and the late Madeleine Chiasson. He his survived by two daughters, Doris (John Baskerville) from British Columbia and Claire (Normand Gallant) from Rogersville; seven sons, George Caissie (Rose) from Timberlea NS, Mederic Caissie (Rayona) from Lower Sackville NS, Gilles Caissie (Majella) from Irishtown, Ronald Caissie from Seabright NS, Robert Caissie (Lisa) from Lower Sackville NS, Richard Caissie (Brigitte) and Stephen Caissie (Tracy) both from Comox, BC; three sisters, Marie (late Eugene Caissie) from Rogersville, Anna (Eugene Doiron) from Dieppe and Catherine (Alyre Doucette) from the United State; four brothers: Calixte (Leonie) and Eugene, both from Rogersville, Fred from Doaktown and Abel from Rogersville; one sister in-law, Arphinie (late Mederic from the United State); 18 grand children and many nieces and nephew. Mr. Caissie was predeceased by one brother Mederic. Mr. Caissie was a veteran of the WWII. The remains of Mr. Caissie will be resting at the Salon "La Colombe" 11325 route 126 in Rogersville, on Wednesday, July 9 at 2pm. The funeral will be held Thursday July 10 in the Saint-Francois-de-Sales Roman Catholic Church of Rogersville at 3:30pm. A donation to the Canadian National Institute for Blind or the Alzeihmer Society will be appreciated. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and Thursday from 1pm until the funeral. ST. CHARLES, NB - Diane Herbert, 49, wife of Adelin Hebert, passed away at Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Monday May 12, 2003. Born in Acadieville, NB she was the daughter of the late Placide Caissie and the late Marie-Rose (Leger) Caissie. She attended St. Charles Borromée Roman Catholic Church, St. Charles. Survived by her husband, Adelin; one daughter, Jeannette (Ken), London, ON; three sons, Shawn (Lena) Athol, Mass, Brian (Heather), Jaffrey,NH. Rene (Tracy), Moncton, NB; five sisters Geralda Bourque (Elie), Jeannette Robichaud (Normand), Eva Bourgeois, Simone Bourque (Laurie), Claudette Caissie; two brothers, Fidele (Doris), Clorice (Jeannette); one brother-in-law, Alderic Richard; two grandchildren, Jessica and Ryan. Predeceased by three sisters, Dorina, Jeanine, Louise. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Church, one hour before the Funeral Mass. Gérard Caissie, 83, of High Street, Moncton, passed away Tuesday July 22, 2003 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born September 10, 1919 in NotreDame, he was the son of the late Pierre, and Onézine (Collette) Caissie. He was employed with CN with 42 years service. He enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie (Bastarache) Caissie, two daughters; Géralda Landry (Donald), and Linda Melanson (Roger) of Moncton, two sons; Bernard (Diane) of Gatineau, QC , George (Huguette) of Moncton, three sisters; Edmée Goguen of Cocagne, Rita Williams (Irenée), and Zélia Goguen of Saint-Antoine, a brother; Lionel (Florence) of Grand-Barachois, a daughter-in-law Carmelle Caissie of Dieppe, 16 grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a infant daughter Bernice, a son Raymond, three sisters; Thérèse Cormier, Bertha Cormier, and Lorraine Melanson, four brothers; Joseph, Aurele, Edouard, and Edgar. Il était fils de feu Eugène Caissie et de feu Julie Caissie. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil une fille du deuxième mariage, Nadia (Dominique Chiasson) de Pokemouche; deux fils du premier mariage: Gérald (Ella Landry) de Maltempec et Roland (Vicky) de Moncton; quatre petits-enfants: Linda, Nancy, Rebecca et Rachel; un frère, Lorenzo (Régina) de Dieppe; une belle-soeur, Valéda (feu Eugène Caissie) de Tracadie-Sheila, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Deux soeurs: Stella et Yvonne, ainsi qu’un frère, Eugène, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Caissie était un vétéran de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et membre de la Légion canadienne de Caraquet. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le mercredi 23 juillet, à la Maison funéraire Racicot de Caraquet. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Immaculée-Conception de Pokemouche, le jeudi 24 juillet, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Juliette Caissie, 93, widow of Arthtur Caissie, of Villa du Repos, formerly of Lewisville, passed away Sunday December 9, 2001 at her residence. Born May 9, 1908 in Grande-Digue, she was the daughter of the late Albénie and Délima (Bourgeois) Vautour.. She is survived by two daughters; Rita Breau of Leominster , Mass., Simonne Bourque (Rertrand) of Moncton, four sons; Gérard and Clarence Caissie both of Moncton, Roger (Shirley) of Guelph, ON, Ronald (Barb) of Leominster, Mass., her sisters Marguerite Gauvin (Philias) of Dieppe, Marie Barrett of Kingston, ON, 25 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by three sons, Louis, Valerie, Romeo; a sister, Jeanne Williams; brothers, Louis and Omer. He is survived by his common-law wife, Claudette Staniforth; his son, Paul (Bernice) of Irishtown; his daughter Paulette Caissie of Dieppe; five grandchildren, Simon, Michel, Monica, Patricia, Nicole; four sisters, Lina Collette (Gérard) of St-Maurice, Thérèse Savoie of Toronto, Stella LeBlanc (Ulysse) and Noëlla Maillet both of SteMarie; three brothers, Alcide (Imelda) of Gary, NB, Gérard (Géralda) of Richibouctou, Aquila Caissie of Saint-John; his former wife Yvonne (LeBlanc) Caissie; several nieces and nephews. 1910-2002

Eloi Caissie, 91, of Manoir NotreDame, formerly of Lefurgey Avenue, Moncton, passed away Thursday July 4 2002 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born November 13, 1910 in St-Norbert, he was the son of the late Placide and Marguerite (Richard) Caissie. In his youth, he was a Catholic Brother with the St-Croix Congregation in Montreal for several years then became a cook at College St-Joseph, Brunswick Hotel, and U de M from where he retired. He was also past proprieter of Casey's Lunch in the 50's and was a member of the Parkton Golden Age Club and Charismatic Movement. He is survived by five daughters, Cécile Noël (late Lawrence) and Aline Cormier (John) both of Moncton, Fernande Leger (Paul) of Dieppe, Carmella Caissie (Ed) of Ottawa, Annette Cousins (Don) of Fergus, ON; four sons, Roméo (Brenda), Reginald (Lisa) and Vincent (Pauline) all of Moncton, Roger of Ottawa; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Edmée (LeBlanc) Caissie in 1998; his sisters Rosa, Laura, Henriette, Adelle, brothers Alfred, and Edmond. Sister Imelda Caissie, 86, a Sister of Providence for 67 years, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt. Born in Ste. Anne de Kent, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clément and Sara (Richard) Caissie. Sister Imelda is survived by five sisters, Délia Maillet and Irene Bourque of Dieppe, Claire Gautreau and Marie Allain of Moncton, Theresa Doucette of Rexton; a brother André (Léa) of Shediac, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, James, Pierre, Alphonse and Laurie. A Burial Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 28 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski, Vt, interment in the Sisters of Providence Lot in the Church Cemetery.

She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Born in Rogersville on October 13, 1901, he was the son of the late Zozime and Marguerite (Richard) Caissie. A retired farmer and woodsman, he attended St. François de Salle Roman Catholic Church in Rogersville and was a member of l'Association des Ami(e)s des Trappistes. He is survived, and will be remembered with fond memories, by one daughter, Anita (Ernest) Richard of Rogersville; two sons, Eloi of Rogersville and Leo (Gilberte) of Opasatika, Ontario; ten grandchildren, Charlene Groundwater of Moncton, Rod (Elise), Gilles (Jeannette), Maurice (Lorette) Richard of Rogersville, Janice (Lucien) Richard of Collette, Daniel (Nancy), Sylvio (Sylvie-Anne), Michel (Brenda), Steven (Annie) Caissie, Sylvie (Lorice) Bernard of Ontario, 17 great grandchildren, Dusty (Jo-Anne) and Cody of Moncton, Marc, Melissa, Jessica, Timmy, Nicole, Zacharie and Marcel of Rogersville, Simon, Justin and Sylie of Collette, Jason, Stéphanie, Randy, Jesse and Jamie of Ontario, as well as several nieces and nephews. The death of Mr. Ovila Joseph Caissie of Wellesley Ave, husband of Clairilda (Rousselle) Caissie for 56 years, occurred on Sunday, April 13, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born in Fair Isle, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Rousselle) Caissie.  Ovila had served in WWII, and was employed with Savoie Transport as a tractor trailer driver, a checker at the Winter Port and J.D.I. Ltd until his retirement. Betty was employed for several years with the Department of Justice at the Youth Training Centre, Kingsclear as a councillor and seamstress. She was a member of the Harvey Station Lioness Club and St. Clement's Anglican Church. He is survived by three sisters Marguerite Cormier (Arthur), Pauline Cormier (Jean-Claude) both of Bouctouche, Dorice Léger (Doug) of Moncton; one brother Jean-Paul of Bouctouche; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Thérèse. Remains are resting at Maillet Funeral Home Ltd, Bouctouche with visitation Tuesday October 28 from 2 to 3:45pm. Funeral Service will take place at SaintJean Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche, Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 4:00 pm. Arrangements in care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.

Calixte Collette BOUCTOUCHE, NB - Calixte Collette, 82, of Manoir St-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, October 25, 2003. Born on October 4, 1921, in Bouctouche, NB, he was the son of the late Célestin Collette and Emma Hébert. He was a veteran of WWII and was a member of Église CR Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche He is survived by two sisters; Irène Caissie of Bouctouche, Marguerite Watson of Winnipeg, MA.; one brother, Irènée of Moncton; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters; Marie Madeleine, Rosée; three brothers, Léo, Oscar, Fred. Resting at Maillet Funeral Home Ltd., Bouctouche with visiting hours on Sunday, October 26, 2003 from 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 2 to 3:45 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Église CR Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche, on Monday, October 27, 2003 at 4:00 pm. Interment in Parish Cemetery. Born in Saint Antoine, NB May 19, 1947 he was the son of the late Edouard Caissie and Dorilla Léger. Clarence was a plumber by trade. He attended Saint-Antoine L'Ermite Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Antoine He is survived by a special friend Lucia Richard; two daughters, Cathy Cormier (Edgar Jr.) of Bouctouche, Charline Hébert (Raymond Jr.) of Moncton, and his former wife Claudette (Bourque) Caissie of Bouctouche; six sisters, Fernande Caissie, Jeanne-Mance Hébert (Joseph) both of Bouctouche, Simonne Gallant (Joseph), Dorilla Richard (Roger) both of Saint-Antoine, Maria Saulnier (Rhéal) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Bernice Caissie (Ken Watters) of Dieppe; two brothers, Noel (Jeanita) of Moncto, Gerard (Alice) of Saint-Antoice; four grandchildren, Monika, Myriam, Karine, Yves-Joèl; great grandchildren as well and several nieces and nephews. There will no visitation. Funeral service to be held at Saint-Antoine L'Ermite Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Antoine, Wednesday December 10, 2003 at 11 am. Alma Caissie ROGERSVILLE, NB - Alma Caissie, 94, of Foyer L'Assomption, Rogersville, NB, widow of the late Camille Caissie, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2003, at Foyer L'Assomption, Rogersville, NB. Born in Collette, NB, March 25, 1909, she was the daughter of the late André Pitre and Madeleine Pitre. She attended Saint-Francios de Sale Roman Catholic Church, Rogersville, NB. She is survived by several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one sister, Rose; and one brother, Joseph. Remains are resting at SaintFrancios de Sale Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Rogersville, NB with visiting hours Monday, December 22, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and Tuesday, Dececmber 23 from 9 to 10:45am. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 11am at Saint-Francios de Sale Roman Catholic Church, Rogersville with interment in the Parish Cemetery. DOREEN DORIS SANCHEZ (nee CAISSIE) Doreen Doris Sanchez, dearly beloved wife of the late Dennis who she was predeceased by in 1986, passed away peacefully at the age of 58 years surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer at the St. Boniface General Hospital on Saturday, March 6, 2004. Doreen leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, and will be lovingly remembered by her children, Linda Dipenta, Ontario, Debbie Caissie, Ste. Marie, NB, Richard, Mark and Shawna (Needham), Sandra; and her precious grandchildren, Cassandra, MacKenzie, Emma and Olivia. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters, Marjorie (Bill) Corbett, Toronto, Yolanda (Aldo) D'Allessandro, St. Catharines, ON, Leona (Bob) O'Connor, Moncton, NB, Gisele (Richard) Nowlan, Ste. Marie; brothers, Francis (Marie Belle) Caissie, Montreal, Bernard (Eva) Caissie, Waltham, MA, and Paul Caissie, Winnipeg. Doreen was born on Saturday, September 15, 1945, to parents Francis (Yvonne) Caissie in Dieppe, NB. Cremation has taken place.
